Monchak A+D llc is a boutique design firm specializing in residential , commercial and small institutional projects. Since it’s inception in 1994, Monchak A+D llc has completed new construction projects, additions, and large and small scale renovations in NYC, the Tristate area, the West Coast and abroad. Our work is site specific, tailored to the individual needs and desires of each client. We pride ourselves in working closely with our clients to ensure that their voices are not only heard but represented in the final project. We provide consultation throughout all phases of the project starting with schematic, programmatic and conceptual design, design development, project management, permitting, bidding, and construction documentation and supervision. Our end goal is to achieve timeless harmonious solutions rooted in creative materiality and exceptional detail.
Prior to establishing her own practice Elaine Monchak worked for Raphael Vinoly Architects and 1100 Architects, both in NYC, and Brunier & Saunier Architects in Paris. She has collaborated with the Human Rights artist Françoise Schein on projects in NYC, Paris, and Portugal.
Elaine Monchak received a Master of Architecture from Columbia University. She is a William Kinne Fellowship recipient.
She is a frequent guest critic at City College, School of Visual Arts and Pratt institute.
